Sullivan's Island
is a small beach and residential community/town located in the "East
Cooper" area of Charleston County about 15 minutes from the Charleston
Historic District. It's miles of public beach, quaint shops, and
restaurants draw visitors from throughout the country. The visitors who
rent single family residents on the island or stay in nearby local
motels mix easily with the year round residents. The mild year round
temperature, excellent nearby medical facilities and one of the best
Elementary Schools in Charleston County make Sullivan's Island
attractive to not only retirees but also young families. Although
Sullivan's Island is known for it's "layed back style", a busier
lifestyle is found in nearby Charleston and Mt. Pleasant with the many
museums, restaurants, golf courses, shopping centers, historic homes,
theaters and public recreational facilities.
The location,
historical significance and desirability of Sullivan's Island has
contributed to the appreciation of property values on the Island. As
of September 29, 2006, the least expensive home on the market on
Sullivans Island was priced at $1,075,000 with more expensive homes
rising up to $4,000,000. You may search for homes for sale on
